Services

Every claim tells a different story — and the right support can turn frustration into fair resolution. Mark Ralph assists injured workers at any point in their WCB journey. Whether your claim was denied at initial entitlement or has sat inactive for years, a claim review can clarify whether additional support may help.

With over a decade inside the WCB system and now practicing independently, I offer clear, policy-informed guidance that keeps you informed, respected, and heard. Explore the services below to see how I can help move your claim forward.

Claim Review

Every case begins with a full review of your WCB file. I read every decision letter, file note, medical report, and policy reference to confirm what has been accepted, what has been denied, and where information may be missing. By measuring these details against current WCB policy and legislation, I identify potential missed entitlements and clarify any procedural or evidentiary gaps.

You receive a plain-language brief summarizing my findings, listing any outstanding documents, highlighting time-sensitive issues, and recommending clear next steps. This review becomes the foundation for a well-supported appeal if you decide to move forward.

Fairness Complaints

Some problems fall outside the scope of formal appeals. These may involve unreasonable delays, poor communication, or inconsistent service delivery. Often, such issues raise concerns about administrative fairness, including procedural fairness (how decisions are made) and behavioral fairness (how you’re treated throughout the process).

In more serious or unresolved cases, I can assist in preparing a formal complaint. This may involve submitting concerns to WCB’s Fair Process Review Centre (FPRC) or, when appropriate, referring the matter to the Alberta Ombudsman’s Office.

The goal is to ensure your concerns are clearly presented, professionally framed, and directed to the appropriate oversight body.

Appeal Representation

When a WCB decision requires further review, I guide the claim through the formal appeal process before the DRDRB or the Appeals Commission. I begin by reviewing all relevant policy references and decision notes to ensure the appeal issues are clearly and accurately framed.

I then help gather and organize the supporting evidence — whether from your records, medical providers, or other knowledgeable parties — so decision-makers receive a clear and complete picture of the facts. I prepare written submissions, arrange hearing materials, and attend on your behalf to present the case in language grounded in WCB policy and legislation.

The goal is to ensure the appeal record is accurate, comprehensive, and fairly considered, giving you the best opportunity to obtain any benefits or entitlements that were previously denied.
